PREFINISHING
We use our time in the field wisely. That’s why we’re proud to have a custom prefinishing workshop on-site at Colorful Concepts, which eliminates the risk of contaminating the prefinishing with drywall dust, sawdust, dirt and other contaminants commonly present on a job site.
For the best prefinishing team in the Upper Midwest since 2001, you can count on Colorful Concepts to impress!

Prefinishing Types:
At Colorful Concepts Painting, our products are proprietary! We utilize the highest quality finishing products available to satisfy our clients. You won’t be able to buy the products we use in-store.
-
Stain Matching: Are you planning to only stain portions of your finishing, or want to match the old style exactly? We can help! Our team can match your previous stain exactly, even if you’ll be using a different species of wood.
-
Gel Stain: If you’re looking to keep the natural grain of wood visible but want more color options than traditional stains, a gel stain is the product for you. Gel stain sits on the wood rather than being rubbed in, giving it a deeper, richer look.
-
Enamel: For indoor trim prefinishing, we use enamel paint to finish wood and make it more resistant to wear and tear. Enamel provides some waterproofing and rot-proofing protection.
-
Glaze: Glaze is a great way to add a thin, mostly translucent film of color over a base coat. It’s a great way to add dimension!
-
Antiquing/Distressing: Antiquing can be done on furniture as well as walls, ceilings, cabinets and more! We use glaze and other techniques to give your pieces that distinct, worn-in look you desire.
